Implications of cigar-wielding psychoanalysts aside, even industrial pollution can look beautiful given the right lighting. This stack is part of the Wheelabrator Trash to Energy Company, which converts over 1500 tons of trash per day into usable energy.

A hand of blessing attached to a chain link fence is one of the items that can still be found as a makeshift memorial at the site of the Cold Storage Warehouse fire.

The original Kenmore Diner sustained water damage during the Cold Storage Warehouse fire of 1999, and was further damaged beyond repair during the demolition of the warehouse. The new diner still sits oddly out of place under Interstate 290.

The Irish Times seems to be the best example of Main Street’s night life. Not that I would know! I ate there for lunch about five years ago.

Somewhere under the Palladium’s peeling paint lies a beautiful theater just waiting to be restored. With the current restoration of the former Showcase South theatres just a few blocks south, I doubt it will be happening any time soon.
