Mardi Gras at Jordan’s Furniture

Saturday, September 30th, 2006

Jordan’s Furniture in Natick is one of those places you have to see to believe. Though if you’re coulrophobic, you may want to avoid the court jester at the hourly Mardi Gras presentation.

Challenger Learning Center

Friday, September 29th, 2006

The Challenger Learning Center at Framingham State College allows middle school students to experience simulated space missions, complete with Mission Control and Space Station. Unbelievably geeky cool. Never thought I’d want to be in middle school again, but now I do.

Framingham State College

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

Christa McAuliffe was a graduate of Framingham State College, and the banners hanging in the school’s library name her and her six fellow astronauts who died in the Challenger disaster of 1986. Seems a little strange that the current college students were too young (or not yet born) to remember the tragedy. But I suppose [...]

Holden Center Cemetery

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

Sunday, September 24th, 2006

A minor league baseball team in Worcester? Couldn’t care less.
Here are a few links to the ecomic impacts for pro sports and casinos.

Wonder Bar

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

When I asked our friendly waitress how long the Wonder Bar had been in existence, she answered, “Forever.” I don’t think she was kidding. The Wonder Bar is one of those magical places where you are transported back in time, and if you stop to talk to any of the many faithful patrons of the [...]

Palma’s Bakery and Café Sorrento

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

The Italian Bakery and Café share a space hidden in a back lot off of Rice Square. The charming café and bakery are in the end stages of renovation, and the atmosphere and patrons made me feel like I imagine a roadside café in Italy to be. The nice selection of pastries don’t hurt either!
The [...]
