Java Hut Cafe

Monday, July 31st, 2006

If you’re after a Bohemian feel and live entertainment five nights a week, the Java Hut Cafe near Webster Square is the place for you.

Quarter Moon

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

It’s nice that Worcester has a moon, too, even if it is smaller than Boston’s moon.

Boston CowParade

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

The Boston CowParade (sic.) consists of 117 painted cows scattered around the city. This cow is known as the Tea Party Cow. It makes me think of the role of public art in a city, and the fact that Worcester does not seem to have very much of it. Sure, there are plenty of memorials [...]

Thorndyke Road School

Friday, July 28th, 2006

Tucked away in the Greendale neighborhood is Thorndyke Road School, with one of the nicest looking school buildings I’ve seen.

UPDATE: There is also a color mode known as Lab, with the L channel containing the luminance values and the a and b channels containing the color [...]

Broad Meadow Brook

Monday, July 24th, 2006

The sky and treetops are reflected in the mucky waters of one of Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary’s many vernal pools. Five miles of hiking trails make visitors forget that they are in the middle of a substantial city.

Thumbnail Update

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006

Finally, I’ve updated the thumbnail version of A Day in the Life. No commentary, just the photos.

The Ride Home

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006

Nineteen high school students and one counselor besides myself rode home from Knoxville yesterday. Jake, pictured here, shows what a good part of the 21 hour drive looked like.
