Bancroft Tower

The engraving in front of the tower states:
bq. Bancroft Tower
This tower was built in 1900
to honor the memory of
George Bancroft
1800-1891
Born at the foot of this hill
he rose to the posts of
Secretary of the Navy
Founder of the U.S. Naval Academy,
Annapolis, Maryland
U.S. Minister to Great Britain
and Germany
This memorial was built by his
friend and admirer
Stephen Salisbury III
The gates to the inside of the tower are normally locked, but I had the opportunity to go up there whhen the neighborhood caretakers were there to clean it up for a Halloween event for the neighborhood kids. It’s really fun to climb to the top.

Nice Architetural Photography! Time for a Tilt-Shift Lens.

I usually use the perspctive feature when I crop in Photoshop, such as the post on Higgins Armory, but there was something about this one that I liked still having the keystoning distortion due to a non-perspective control lens.
